Together of the nearby Carmel Garden and Our Lady of Carmel Church, and the wetland they are facing, the Taipa Houses has attracted large number of tourists.

The Statue of A-Ma (Mazu) Temple is on top of the Coloane Alto, and at the highest point of Macau. Nearby is a Buddhist temple, the A-Ma Cultural Village , dedicated to the goddess.
Source: Macao Government Tourism OfficeRuins of St. Paul’s, the symbolic landmark of Macau, was the southern facade of the Church of St. Paul, built in 1602-1640 and destroyed by fire in 1835, and the ruins of St. Paul’s College. The stone facade was carved by Japanese Christians exiled from Japan.

The Guia Fortress was built between 1622 and 1638. It is on the Guia Hill at the highest point of the Macau Peninsula. There is a chapel inside the fortress. Beside it a lighthouse was constructed in 1865.

The Senado Square is a triangular town square with distinctive Portuguese pavement style, characterized by the use of black and white stones of basalt and limestone. The Senado Squareis one of the most visited tourist attractions in Macau.
