Welcome, Mengqi & Yutao

Mengqi Chen (陳夢琪) joins our lab as a Ph.D student. She obtained her B.S. degree in Biological Science from Taiyuan Normal University and M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Sichuan University. She studied copper regualtion of cell migration throught intermediate filament protein vimentin.

Yutao Li (李宇桃) joins our lab as a Ph.D student. She obtained her B.S. degree in Pharmacy from Jinan University and worked in BindeBio Co. Ltd. as a research assistant. She studied the mechanism and regulation of tumor cell killing function of NY-SCO-1, a cancer-testis antigen.

Welcome, Jenny!

Jenny Chio (趙子慧) joins our lab as a research assistant. She obtained her B.S. degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of London and will receive her M.S. degree in Medical Sciences soon from the University of Hong Kong. She studied the modulation of periostin mRNA splicing in anti-fibrotic therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Welcome!

First data at UM

First data in our lab is a fluorescent image taken on a Nikon Ti microscope. NIH 3T3 fibroblasts were microinjected with plasmid DNA encoding GFP-prelamin AL647R for 1 hour and cell polarization was induced by 10 μM lysophosphatidic acid. Two hours later cells were fixed and stained for tubulins (red) and vinculin (blue).
